Once the world was filled many thing, beautiful and grotesque. Great evil battled with bright goodness and the skies crackled with magic more powerful that than the stars themselves. But this world, like all things must, did fade like the sun at dusk, creeping back to the edge of the mountains, until all that remained was a sliver of light along horizons, separating the earth from the heavens; the then from the now. That light, that sliver, was a wood. A wood between worlds. Through the thick brambles of those woods cut many paths. On those paths, travelers, lost ones who have faded back with the light itself.
Once upon a time we believed in many things, the power of love, of fate of magic. But belief, like all things, did fade.
